Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Vayscape (vayscape.com, "we," "us," or "our") collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. Vayscape is operated from Canada, and we handle personal information in line with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) — this policy isn’t written for GDPR compliance, so if we ever serve users outside Canada at scale, this will need a fuller update.
1. Information we collect
When you create a Vayscape account, we collect:
- Email address (required)
- First name (optional)
- Password — stored and managed by Supabase Auth; we never see or store your raw password
- Home airport preference, if you set one
- Subscription tier (Free or Pro) and, for Pro members, subscription status via Stripe
- Deal radar and notification preferences you set in your account
We also automatically log basic technical information (like IP address and browser type) through our hosting provider for security and reliability purposes.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account
- To send deal alert emails and account-related notifications
- To determine which tier of deals (Free or Pro) you should see, and when
- To process Pro subscription payments and manage billing
- To respond to support requests you send us
- To improve the deals and destination content we curate
3. Who we share information with
We don’t sell your personal information to anyone. We share information only with the service providers that power Vayscape, and only as needed for them to do their job:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication (your login credentials and account data)
- Stripe — processes Pro subscription payments. Stripe receives your billing/payment details directly; Vayscape never sees or stores your full card number
- Resend — sends deal alert and account emails, and manages our subscriber/mailing lists
- Netlify — hosts the Vayscape website and its backend functions
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Vayscape or our users.
4. Affiliate links
Some deals link out to third-party booking sites (such as Kiwi.com) through affiliate links. If you click through and book, that third party will process your booking and any personal information you give them directly — their own privacy policy governs that transaction, not this one. Vayscape does not receive your payment or booking details from affiliate partners.
5. Cookies and tracking
Vayscape currently uses only the essential cookies required to keep you signed in (set by Supabase Auth). As of this writing, we do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.
Flag for Derek:if you add any analytics tool (Google Analytics, PostHog, Plausible, etc.) after launch, this section needs to be updated before that tool goes live — it isn’t future-proofed for tracking that doesn’t exist yet.
6. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we’ll delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to retain records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes (for example, payment records related to a Stripe transaction).
7. Your rights
You can:
- Access or update your account information (name, home airport, and notification preferences) directly from your account settings
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Request that we delete your account and associated personal information
- Unsubscribe from deal alert emails at any time via the link in those emails
Account deletion is currently handled manually — email hello@vayscape.com to request deletion or a data export, and we’ll action it as soon as we can.
8. Security
We rely on Supabase, Stripe, and Resend’s built-in security practices to protect your data, and we don’t store payment card details ourselves. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Vayscape grows past this soft-launch stage. We’ll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
10. Contact
